INTRODUCTION

This  chapter  consists  of  eight  sub-chapters.  (1)  Background  of  the  Study, (2)  Formulation of  Research Problem, (3)  Objective of the  Research,  (4)  Hypothesis  of  the  Study,  (5)  Significance  of  the  research,  (6)  Scope  and  limitation of the problem, (7) Definition of key term, (8) and organization of the research.

A.  Background of the Study

According to Dalyono (2007:184) IQ is concerning ability for learned to be already studied deep on effort adaption to situations that insufficiently been  known,  or  in  trouble-shooting..  Many  people  have  opinion  that  have good person or success in life is  people that have high IQ. However,  in real life, many person which their despite success though have average IQ.

Meanwhile  IQ  or  level  of  intelligence quotient is  acquired  score  of one  tool  of  intelligence  test.  In  other  word,  IQ  is  acquired  score  of  essays intelligence, so the essays of intelligence more recognize with IQ. Ordinal, IQ test commonly use to determining major in a school.

The  ability  of  a  child  in  adaptable  that  of  course  it  will  also  on  how they accept and understand material by educator. In addition, it will?????

This  chapter  presents  introduction  concerning  background  of  the  study, formulation of research problem, purpose of study, significant of the study, scope and limitation, formulation of hypothesis, and definition of key terms.

A.    Background of the Study

Language  is  a  system  of  communication,  and  it  is  the  most  useful  for people  in  life.  Without language people cannot interact and  communicate  with other. Language not only can be expressed orally but also written. With language we can talk, we can express our idea, our emotion, our feeling and etc. According to  Slobin  (1939:114)  stated  that  “human  culture,  social  behavior,  and  thinking could not exist as we know them in the absence of language.

Although no one would deny the central role of language in human life, to define the nature of that role  has  been  a  persistent  and  difficult  problem  since  the  beginnings  of philosophy.  Although  language  pervades  mental  life,  it  does  not  constitute  the whole  of  psychological  state  and  processes.  There  are  images  and  emotion, intentions  and  abstractions,  memories  of  sounds  and  smells  and  feelings,  and much more”. In other hands, by language we can communicate not only with a people  but  also  animal,  because  almost  animals  have  some  kinds  of communication’s system. For instance, some of bees confess a location and honey to  the  nest’s  inhabitant  by  dancing.  Besides,  some  of  the  higher  animals  have??????

A. Background of The Study

English is an international language. Language is very important for human’slife. It is used to communication with other people and also the movement toward and  international  standard  for  the  language.  Almost  of  countries  have  adapted  in English. So they begin to learn both mother tongue and foreign language to enlar e their knowledge and experience. English is also used as a compulsary subject at school.  The  national  education  has  decided  that  English as  a  foreign  language taught  in  Indonesian.  It  learned  started  from  elementary  school  up  to  university. People realize that teaching English at this level becomes very important and need much  concern.  As  an  English  teacher,  he  or  she  demands to  explore  effective techniques, method, and approaches.

Reading is good thing in life because it is a factor of great importance in the individual development and the most important activity in school. It is needed in every level of field of study. There are particularly in cases when students have to read  English  materials  for  their  own  special  subject  with  a  limited  vocabulary anyone  will  also  has  limited  understanding  in  terms  of  listening,  speaking??????????????????
