INTRODUCTION
1.1   Background
Teaching English in our country has been developed extensively because English is an international language in the world. Therefore, Indonesian government has brought it as a local since at the elementary school. In teaching English vocabulary as an element or language is considered as the most important factor in increasing the mastered if the students are still lacking of vocabulary. Vocabulary is a part of language learning that need continuing growth and development by both native and non native speakers long after grammar and pronunciation elementary school until senior high Scholl. In language teaching preparation program in our country, more and attention being given to improve some technique for teaching vocabulary.
Learning vocabulary as a foreign language seems easy but some students feel fear. The teacher of English should find out solution by crating efficient and effective technique of teaching in teaching English vocabulary, besides that, the teachers should establish condition which makes teaching vocabulary possible. The learning will occur within reasonable period of time.
Realizing how important the vocabulary and how difficult students to build up the teachers of English have provided students with rich exciting exercise which are expected to help vocabulary mush be???????????????????????

A.    Background

English is one of the most important languages in the world because it is of international communication. Therefore, the government of Indonesia has placed this English language in the curriculum not only at the secondary school, senior high school, but also at university or institute.
Being able to speak in English one needs to have enough vocabulary to express own idea. Therefore, speaking is one way of giving and finding information through oral communication. Speaker of English agrees that vocabulary is needed so much and not less important than grammar. Many students are still doubtful to expose their ideas in English because they have a limited vocabulary in their mind.
Vocabulary is one of the important elements in building up English using this element, someone can communicate, learning and thinking. Therefore, the learning of vocabulary is fundamental need to support some learners to master English, because the ability of students to read and to comprehend the subject is relatively detemined by their vocabulary.
The research shows that the student's ability in speaking is still unsatisfactory and tends to be disheartened. Many factors may cause this problem for example, the lack of student's vocabulary, the teacher's technique in teaching, the lack of the student's motivation in learning vocabulary, the student's laziness in memorizing vocabulary required, even in speaking case they???

A.    Background of The Study
Nowadays  in  Indonesia,  all  of  the  students  at  schools  from  primary  school  to university  learn  English  as  a  foreign  language.  The  purpose  of  learning  English  is  that students  can  communicate  in  English  both  oral  form  and  written  one.  Especially  in  senior high  school  level,  the  students  learn  all  English  language  skills  like  speaking  and  writing.
Writing is one of the four language skills. As stated by Finocchiaro and Brumfit (1983:149), “Writing should reinforce and help extends the listening, speaking, and reading skills”. Writing as one of the four language skills is part of syllabus in English teaching. It can be seen  from  the  curriculum  2004,  standard  competency  of  senior  high  school (Depdiknas:2003) starting the aim of English teaching is “Siswa mampu mengembangkan kemampuan  dalam  bahasa  Inggris  dalam  bentuk  lisan  dan  tulisan.  Kemampuan berkomunikasi  meliputi  mendengarkan  (Listening),  berbicara  (Speaking),  membaca (Reading), dan menulis (Writing).”
From  the  statement  above,  the  researcher  concludes  that  writing  can  support  the others  language  skills.  It  means  that  writing  is  a  complex  domain  to  learn  and  to  teach because it requires many skills. Before doing and making a good writing, the students need to???

1.1.        Background of Problem
In learning English, there are four skills we must study. They are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The four skills mentioned are divided into receptive and productive skills. Speaking and writing are productive skills, while listening and reading are receptive skills. Beside the four language skills above, reading is of great importance to student show mother tongue is not English, because they almost do not have opportunity to hear or to speak that language. Comprehending English is a difficult thing for students if they are does not have basic knowledge, especially in comprehending reading text.
Alyousef (2006, p. 8) defines that reading as a comprehension is a complex process in which the reader uses his mental content to obtain the meaning from written material. It means that, the reader must be able to recognize the meaning of printed words. We can interpret that reading comprehension is the capability to comprehend or to acquire the idea of one passage. It means that, when someone reads, he looks at something written and tries to get the meaning to understand it.
In Junior High School, the students have to learn different text types such as narrative, descriptive, recount, procedure, etc. One of text that students should be able to learn is narrative text which given in Junior High School for at eighth grade. In reading Narrative text, teacher should introduce other materials as an alternative to give various situations to student in classroom process. These materials can be a media; it can be create a comfortable atmosphere interest and to stimulate the students’????

A.  Background
English is one of the international languages used by many people in the world. English as the first foreign language taught at school from the elementary level up to the university level in Indonesia. Using English is the easiest way to communicate with people from other countries. Because English was obviously as international language involves many aspects in human life, such as politics, socials, cultures, economics, and technology.
For the Junior High School graduates, they are expected to reach at the functional level. In this case, they are expected to be able to communicate or participate in the creation of text in spoken and written in their daily life. In short, at Junior High level, learners are expected to learn daily expressions, especially fixed expressions and idioms that are needed in daily lives to accompany their actions when playing at school yards, when attending classes, when interacting with their friend, etc.
